TOOOOOOOOOMBA!

One birthday, my parents got me Tomba! 2. Man, what a fucking game. All of my friends and I stayed up the entire night damn near beating that game. To this day it is still one of my favorite games. Just overall great,  I love everything about it and I try to go back and play it every now and then and to me it still keeps up to this day.

And c'mon, pink fucking hair. Squirrel suit, fire hammer. Fuck those pigs.

Anyways, I had to do something for Tomba! It was a very important piece of my childhood. I'm going to try to go through and illustrate those important memories of my childhood. This is just the first one. Not sure what the next one will be but I'll keep them coming.

Spaceman

I did another space character. This was one of the poor space crew that had their lives taken when the commander they thought they could trust gave in and forsook his humanity and his crew for greater power.


He is a space lich. This would be one of the basic creatures that guard the way to the Space Lich's inner chamber.

I had fun painting it for the most part. I didn't really work on it as a whole as I should have, I ended up focusing on parts at a time, I ended up working on the shoes last and was starting to run out of steam so I think they are the weakest part. Next time I'm going to try to work on the entire character as one instead of rendering each part a little at a time. I dunno. It was still fun.

Space guy

As usual whenever I do a painting that I'm not 100% satisfied with I tend to do another one that I really put more time into. This time it was some sort of space guy monster whatever.

Trying something new, wanted to mess with a hard round brush at 100% opacity. Makes me really think about each stroke more than I normally do. Gotta get back on this art shit and shit.

I need to keep practicing, gotta learn the basics so I can then draw awesome dragons and shit. More practice hopefully will mean more better.

Late night painting.

Just a little late night painting. Half finished as always. =/ I'm trying to find a better work flow, so that way even when I don't finish a piece, it still feels more done than most. I always find myself always jumping ahead, I think I did that this time too. I need to work on my pieces more as a whole than trying to do piece by piece.

Oh well, each stroke I learn something new.

Got some new Prisma Color greyscale markers yesterday. Feel more motivated. First full page anything I've done. Pretty proud of the direction this can lead me.

Punzie

Hey all, here is a concept that's been on my mind for a while. While my GF was watching the movie 'Tangled' I saw a scene where Rapunzel's hair gets braided by little kids, and I thought to myself 'Self, wouldn't that be pretty awesome if she had a blade at the end of her hair and fought with that?'

And so I drew of some concepts today and came up with this, I like the direction I went with her costume but I think I need to tweak it some more to make it more dynamic, I want more flowing pieces of cloth on her so when she fights its almost like a dance. But at the same time I want it to be practical.

That may come later, but for now, this is what you get. Below is a page of concepts I made before doing the main piece.

Weekend paintings

Today as a break from everything in the day, I decided to paint some fish. it was rather soothing and I'm happy with how its turned out. I need to work on my backgrounds more but that's always a work in progress.

Morning arts

Here is another piece that I have started in Sketchbook pro. I can't believe how much I enjoy the pencil tool in this program, it's such a blast. This time I took the pencil sketch into photoshop to finish it up. Nothing too special, Just something i wanted to try and finish in the morning. Trying to use everything I learn in each new piece I do. Value layer and sketch are below.

Sketchbook/Correl test

Just a test piece to mess around with sketchbook and correl. Not used to correl at all, I want to get the hang of it because I like the idea of it but I feel much more in control in photoshop.

Sketchbook is really fun to use though. Value's and everything are probably pretty off but oh well.

Happy Feb. 14th. Hope for the best to you and your's, here is a piece I've been working on for a while for a friend. Pretty happy with how it turned out even with all the frustrations it brought me. i learned a lot from it and hope to apply that to future art. Hope you enjoy.

Starting off slow.

It's been far too long since I've done a single piece of art. At least a piece that I'm done with and just don't get discouraged with and end up doing nothing. I want to change that and to do so I've decided to start doing a series of quick sketches in the morning before I go to work.

Nothing fancy, nothing too special, just whatever comes to mind. No real worry about rendering, just throwing stuff on the canvas and getting back into the groove of things.

Ive recently bought KOF13. Amazing game, one of the best fighters that has come out this generation. Unforgiving and really requires you to know your shit. I plan to go pretty hard in this game so I decided to sketch out one of my favorite characters. I might end up just drawing my team with these paintings if thats what happens.
